Postmark Paradise

The Dirty Shame is the only bar in the small town of Paradise, Michigan. A burnt out, chain-smoking fortyish bar maid (Tantoo Cardinal) is the only waitress at The Dirty Shame.

On a drunk at the Dirty Shame, the "boys" of Paradise conspire to bestow a special gift on their ringleader: a mail-order bride from Russia. These red necks trick Viktoria, a beautiful, bright girl (Russian star Natalia Nazarova) from Ukraine, into coming to their town.

Luring bright young thing Victoria to Paradise from the Ukraine proves deceptively simple, but getting her back when she realizes just how thoroughly she's been duped proves a whole other kettle of fish. The fact that her husband-to-be is a yet to be reformed misogynist twice her age, puts a kink in Viktoria's plan to start a new life in America.

Taking lessons in the American dream from burned-out, chain-smoking waitress Reenie, Viktoria soon winds up being the teacher, as the citizens of Paradise get a new perspective on life and Viktoria crafts her own version of that dream.
